Hongcun – South of Anhui, China (part 1)

We took a trip to Hongcun, a village in the south of Anhui Province, about half an hour’s drive from Huanshan, a mountain of tourist attraction in the region. Hongcun is famous for its architecture of Anhui style,

characterized with white wall,

black roof tile,

and flying eave.

The majority population of the village has the same family name, Wang (汪). The center of the village is the temple of the Wang Family,

A typical house comprises of a living room,

with a pavilion, where the host can receive guests or enjoy a tea.
